About The Rotting Hart – A New Queer Horror

“There’s blood on his face. There’s pride in his eyes. He bellows.”

A young man spends years of isolation with his father when a stranger bursts into their lives. Tall and proud and full to the brim. Now, despite resisting, the young man can feel something stirring inside him, and intrusive thoughts make him wonder whether the stranger's proud neck would fit between his growing canines…

Predator or prey. Hunt or be hunted. A tale of how ignorance and hate can transform men into wild beasts.

The Crested Fools present a new queer horror tackling the history of homophobia in Spain and the enduring hate that persists inside ourselves. Written and performed by Daniel Orejon and directed by Flavia D'Avila, this mesmerising mixture of theatre, choreography and storytelling is fresh from its sell-out Edinburgh Fringe run, where it was nominated to an OffFest Award.
